🗣️🌐 Chat with any webpage
A tool that lets you chat with any browser page. Chat with articles, YouTube videos, Reddit threads and more.
We just released a free tool that lets you chat with any web page or landing page through a Google Chrome extension.
Use Reflect Webchat to:
Pull key takeaways from articles
Chat with YouTube video transcripts while you watch
Summarize pages
Generate Twitter or LinkedIn posts based on a page
Convert landing page text to clean markdown that you can copy
This email will walk through how to set up the Chrome extension, and then walk through some examples.
Setting up Reflect Webchat
First, download and add the Chrome extension here. Click on the extension, and you’ll see a window to add either OpenAI or Anthropic API keys.
Here’s what the chat bar looks like
You’ll need an API key from one of these providers to activate Reflect Webchat. If you have never dealt with API keys before, watch this video where I get API keys from OpenAI.
After this you should be good to go!
Using Reflect Webchat to chat with webpages
To start chatting with a web page, just click on the Chrome extension icon. It will pull up a right hand sidebar that has a chat interface with a couple pre-built prompts to get you started.
You'll probably want to click on the extension button frequently, so it might be helpful to pin it in Google Chrome.
When you're finished with a chat, click on the X or the extension icon again and the chat bar will disappear.
You'll notice that web pages remember the chats, so if you open the chat again on the same web page, it will pull up the existing conversation. When you open it on a new page, the chat will be blank.
Examples using Reflect Webchat
Chat with YouTube videos
The extension can read YouTube transcripts, which makes it very useful for things like pulling ingredients out of a video recipe, or finding a specific point of information in a long video.
Simplify information on complex pages
Are you ever on a landing page thinking, “I’m not really sure what’s going on here…”? Webchat can explain it to you!
Generate Tweets or LinkedIn posts based on content
Find an interesting article? Have Webchat take the insights and convert it into some short posts for you. If you don’t like them on the first try keep chatting to make changes to the posts.
There is a lot more that you can do by chatting with browser pages. If you find any other clever use cases, we’d love to hear about them!
