đź“‹ Save recurring lists in your notes

Keep saved lists handy for trip packing, house maintenance, or anything else you need to remember.

Have you ever left for a trip and forgotten something essential? Maybe you have a list of daily habits you like to complete or workouts you do regularly. If you own a home, boat or RV, you might have maintenance lists you want to save.

These are handy to pull out instantly when you need them, so you don’t have to sit there and think about what you might be forgetting.

This email will show you a very simple way to keep saved lists handy, and make them better each time you use them.

Step 1: Write out your list

Start by creating a note and just listing out everything you need. Do it while you’re actually preparing the thing.

If you like to go camping or take a lot of work trips, make a list while you are actually packing. If you’re preparing a vacation rental to sit through the winter, write down the things you need to do as you do them.

Convert it to a checklist if you haven’t already. I’ll use the example of my actual camping list.

Step 2: Copy your list into a saved template

When you’re happy with your list (you can still add to it later), copy it. Then save it as a template.

In Reflect, this is done in the preferences. Give the template a natural name that you’ll easily remember.

đź’ˇ Pro Tip: put the list under a collapsable bullet.

Step 3: Pull up the list anytime you need it

In Reflect, this is done using the / shortcut, followed by the template name. It pulls up the list exactly how you’ve saved it.

If done on your daily note, you’ll have a record of what you did (or didn’t) do.

Step 4: Add to your list when you forget something

If you accidentally leave something off the list and realize it was forgotten, just add it to your template so that you know it’s there next time.

That way, your saved lists keep getting better and better over time!
